Nike Roshe Run slides a signature model

Yes the nike roshe run nz was available in some Liberty of London versions, but most of the patterns selected for that project weren’t of the floral sort. Finally planting some flowers on the shoes is this new creation from kikeronincheese. What’s more those flowers are borrowed from Supreme’s recent Power, Corruption, and Lies collection. The creator even slapped a little “Supremo” box logo tag on the forefoot of the sneakers. While the Air Jordan release amongst the collection inevitably ends up the most coveted of the bunch, the rest of the set still serves up plenty of interesting, eye-catching designs that disappear quickly from stock. But is it time for Nike to broaden the range of silhouettes available? Should they slide a signature model from Nike Basketball in there for once, or maybe add in a new Nike Sportswear model that has only recently gained steam? The Sneaker News team has compiled a list of suggestions for 2013’s Doernbecher Freestyle sneakers from Nike, so read on to see what we’ve picked out and check out the quick introduction of this year’s Doernbecher designers below.

Next weekend will mark the full reveal of this year’s Doernbecher Freestyle set of sneakers from nike roshe run. The shoes have been a yearly highlight in the sneaker world ever since the project’s 2003 debut, but here’s some info if you’re unfamiliar: Nike invites a group of patients from the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in their native Portland to pitch in on sneaker design, crafting their own whimsical shoes that are in turn sold in limited quantities, with all the benefits thereof going to charity. Before we’re collectively filled in on what else is to come from this year’s group (In addition to the already released Air Jordan 5 designed by the late Isaac Arzate) we thought it would be interesting to call out some models that could best benefit from the Doernbecher Freestyle program.

The ‘Persian Violet’ hue that will forever be associated with the nike air max thea nz has recently been showing up on a few other classic Air Max models, and arguably none are better than this latest coming down the purple pipe. It’s the Air Max model that started it all that gets the Persian Violet treatment, with the Air Max 1 Essential sporting the lush purple tone across its suede and mesh upper. It’s paired with Midnight Navy for the mudguard and accents, then contrasted with light grey laces and lining and a crisp white midsole. Nike has returned to give them as much of an OG feel as possible with a supple suede arriving on the colorful accents to coincide with a clean white mesh and subtle neutral grey throughout. The Nike Sportswear design team visited the Archives for some inspiration for the upcoming Air Max Day and upon seeing the sketch, they chose to bring it to life given the historic backstory. Designer Graeme McMillan took charge and created the Air Max Zero using the Air Max 1 Ultra outsole and some of Nike’s latest technology and design cues for the upper, with Tinker himself noting that had he been tasked with the Air Max Zero, he would’ve made many of the same decisions.
