NASHVILLE -- The Nashville Predators withstood every comeback try the Detroit Red Wings threw at them and skated off with a win. Colin Wilson had two goals and an assist, and Mike Fisher scored a goal and helped set up two others in the Predators 6-4 victory over the Red Wings on Monday night. Fisher has three goals and three assists in Nashvilles past two games. Craig Smith, Nick Spaling, and Roman Josi also scored. "There was emotion. There were lots of goals, sways in momentum, all the things that you have in sports," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. "From that standpoint, I thought it was real good." Justin Abdelkader, Pavel Datsyuk, Drew Miller, and Patrick Eaves scored for the Red Wings, who have lost two of three. The teams combined for five goals in a back-and-forth third period, but Nashville never relinquishing the lead. "We found a way to shut it down and get that next one when we needed it," Fisher said. "Thats the sign of a good team, playing against a good team like that, we can win one in the third there." Wilson put the Predators ahead 1:54 into the game with a wrist shot from the high slot that beat goalie Jimmy Howard on the glove side. It was the first shot on Howard, who had been out with a knee injury since Dec. 10. "It wasnt very pretty, and it was a battle all night," Howard said. "To be honest with you, I felt like I was behind the play a lot and just didnt get comfortable in their end. When I thought I was on the angles, I was off the angles." Detroit tied it at 3:00 of the first period when Abdelkader carried the puck from below the Nashville goal line to the left of the net and lifted a backhander high to the stick side of goalie Marek Mazanec. Nashville regained the lead when Smith scored his team-leading 11th goal at 9:50 of the first. Skating down the left side on a 3-on-2 rush, Smith pulled up near the left faceoff dot and beat Howard on the short side. Spaling made it 3-1 at 4:24 of the second, but Datsyuk got the Red Wings back within a goal just 35 seconds into the third period with a one-timed shot from the right circle. Fisher stretched Nashvilles lead back to two goals at 5:50. Wilson carried the puck behind the Detroit net, emerged on the right side, and found Fisher on the left side for a shot into an open net that gave him his 10th goal of the season. Fisher set himself up for a Gordie Howe hat trick when he fought Abdelkader late in the second period. Miller made it 4-3 at 11:30, but Wilsons second of the game was scored 37 seconds later off a nice feed from defenceman Seth Jones, who had two assists for the second consecutive game. "It was a good play by (Jones), and I just had to get it up over," Wilson said. "We are definitely more confident out there, and did well defensively." Eaves netted his first goal of the season at 14:52 during a power play to again bring the Red Wings within a goal, 5-4. Josis empty-net, power-play goal concluded the scoring. Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall each had a pair of assists for Detroit. "There were times when we were doing a lot of good things and were sticking to the game plan, but for some reason were losing guys up ice and were not executing in our own zone," Kronwall said. "I thought we made it a little too easy for them at times. They got their chances a little bit too easily." NOTES: Nashville is 15-1-2 when it has scored first this season. ... Wilson has points in three consecutive games. ... Datsyuk has 69 points in 63 career games against Nashville. John Wall Jersey . Elliott Peterson, Connor Rankin and Kenton Helgesen supplied the scoring for the Hitmen (43-15-7), who are 11-0-1 in their last 12 games. Greg Chase assisted on all three. Edgars Kulda and Mitchell Moroz scored for the Oil Kings (44-16-3), who now trail Calgary by two points for top spot in the Eastern Conference. Nene Wizards Jersey . Now, after a stunning run in Melbourne, Stanislas Wawrinka has a new nickname: The Stanimal — a tribute to his gritty, fight-until-the end style of tennis. Fittingly, perhaps, the name was apparently coined by none other than Roger Federer, in a tweet of support for his friend which quickly caught on earlier in the tournament. http://www.wizardsjerseysfanshop.com/martell-webster-womens-jersey/ .com) - A pair of playoff teams meet Saturday night at the Bell Centre, as the Montreal Canadiens host the New York Rangers in the regular- season finale for both clubs. Miller and the Vancouver Whitecaps mutually agreed to terminate the Scottish nationals contract on Sunday, freeing the 34-year-old to take a vacation with his wife and children.MINNEAPOLIS -- Alexi Casilla came through with yet another clutch hit for the Minnesota Twins. After a two-month swoon, June has brought new life to this banged-up and once-bumbling bunch. Casilla laced a single to left field to drive in the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning and lift the Twins to a 5-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on a windy, chilly Thursday night at Target Field. For Casilla, suddenly one of the teams hottest hitters, it was his fifth career "walk-off" hit. The most famous, of course, came in 2009 when he beat the Detroit Tigers in the 163rd game to break the tie in the American League Central and send the Twins to the playoffs. "I love these situations. Myself, I just try to calm down, dont get too excited," Casilla said. "Im looking for a good pitch to hit." Luke Hughes led off the ninth with a double off Mark Lowe (1-0) that a fan picked up before the Rangers could play it. They complained, to no avail. Arthur Rhodes came in to get the second out, but Casilla hit an opposite-field line drive that was plenty deep enough for Hughes to score. "You get that feeling that hes going to bang the ball somewhere. Theres a lot of different ways he can get a hit," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "He put a nice swing on that one." Jim Hoey (1-2) finished the ninth for the win. Rangers starter Derek Holland gave up a solo shot in the second inning to Delmon Young, just his second this season, and a three-run homer to Michael Cuddyer in the fifth to the back of the bullpen measured at 443 feet that made the grounds crew guys jump up to avoid getting hit. "Weve got some energy. Weve got some life," Cuddyer said. Twins starter Nick Blackburn was hurt by two errors, one of them his, in a two-run sixth by the Rangers. He also gave up huge home runs to Josh Hamilton (an estimated 441 feet) and Nelson Cruz (450 feet), which tied the game with one out in the eighth. Holland matched his career high with 10 strikeouts over 7 1-3 innings. He mightve even avoided facing Cuddyer in the fifth, had second base umpire Paul Nauert not missed the tag shortstop Elvis Andrus made on Rene Rivera trying to retreat on a bouncer hit right at him. Rivera was reetired on the next play at third base when Adrian Beltre grabbed Ben Reveres bunt and made a snap, off-balance throw to get the lead runner, but its impossible to determine how that inning wouldve developed had Rivera been out the first time.dddddddddddd Rangers manager Ron Washington argued with Nauert for a while. The Twins no longer have the worst mark in the majors, either, moving a half-game ahead of Houston. The Twins raised their record at home to a mere 7-15, on the heels of going 53-28 at Target Field last season. Blackburn rebounded from a shortened start last week by tightness in his back, looking fine over 109 pitches five days later, save for the soaring and costly home runs by Hamilton and Cruz. Blackburns ERA remains the best on Minnesotas starting staff, 3.47, and he hasnt lost since April 28. Blackburn struck out six and surrendered 10 hits and one walk in those 7 1-3 innings. Only two of the four runs were earned, though they were partially his fault, thanks to a too-high throw on Hamiltons dribbler back to the mound leading off the sixth that paved the way for the Rangers to pull to 4-3. Blackburn was most disgusted, though, in the eighth on his 1-0 changeup to Cruz. He whipped his body away from the field toward his dugout while Cruz jogged around the bases with his 15th homer. Young didnt bother watching, either, as the ball soared into the third deck, a half-dozen rows up. "That mightve been the longest home run Ive ever seen hit," Rangers second baseman Michael Young said. "Strong man. Strong man. Were lucky. We get to see that a lot." The Twins are just glad they have a better performance to put out there. "Lately, its been fun to watch," Casilla said. Said Gardenhire: "You feel like you have a chance in ballgames again, and thats the atmosphere youre looking for." NOTES: Washington said 2B Ian Kinsler, out on paternity leave following the birth of his son, would return to the team for Saturdays game. ... The Rangers are in a stretch with 17 out of 20 games on the road. ... The Twins started a portion of the schedule with 31 of the next 41 games at home. Theyve played the fewest home games in the majors. ... The Twins won for the first time in 26 games this year when being out-hit. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys Landon Donovan Jersey ' ' '
